Something I find that really helps me get closer to my Heavenly Father is a program called Personal Progress. It's a book filled with value experiences to do with our Young Women Values which are: faith, divine nature, individual worth, knowledge, choice and accountability, good works, integrity, and vitrue. After you've completed the needed value experiences, you do a 10 hour project, and you get a ribbon to mark your favorite scripture pertaining to the value you worked on.Starting today I'm going to work on Divine Nature #2:
"As a young woman you are blessed with divine feminine qualities. Increase your understanding of an appreciation for womanhood. Read Proverbs 31:10-31 and two talks on womanhood from a conference issue of the Church magazines. Review what "The Family: A Proclamation to the World" says about being a wife and a mother. Then ask your mother or another mother you admire what she thinks are important attributes for being a mother. List the attributes in your journal. Then choose one of those attributes and strive to develope it. After two weeks report your success to a parent or a leader."
So, for the next two weeks, while I post about other things, I'll be working on this goal. I'm really excited to see just how my appreciation of being a woman, a mother, and a wife will grow after this value experience.
