Personal Progress- Divine Nature #2

Something I find that really helps me get closer to my Heavenly Father is a program called Personal Progress. It's a book filled with value experiences to do with our Young Women Values which are: faith, divine nature, individual worth, knowledge, choice and accountability, good works, integrity, and vitrue. After you've completed the needed value experiences, you do a 10 hour project, and you get a ribbon to mark your favorite scripture pertaining to the value you worked on.

Starting today I'm going to work on Divine Nature #2:

"As a young woman you are blessed with divine feminine qualities. Increase your understanding of an appreciation for womanhood. Read Proverbs 31:10-31 and two talks on womanhood from a conference issue of the Church magazines. Review what "The Family: A Proclamation to the World" says about being a wife and a mother. Then ask your mother or another mother you admire what she thinks are important attributes for being a mother. List the attributes in your journal. Then choose one of those attributes and strive to develope it. After two weeks report your success to a parent or a leader."

So, for the next two weeks, while I post about other things, I'll be working on this goal. I'm really excited to see just how my appreciation of being a woman, a mother, and a wife will grow after this value experience.

The Goal

I may seem like your average 17 year old, but I'm not. I have so many plans and so many goals. Maybe no one will read this, and maybe someone will and it will touch their hearts. I hope I can pass along my spirit. Will I be hammered with questions and trash talking my beliefes? Probably. I feel someone somewhere will read something I post and take it into their hearts. That's all anyone can ask.

If you're not interested in anything I write, please feel free to look at other blogs. It won't hurt my feelings if you don't want anything to do with what I have to say.

My goal is this: before my 18th birthday I plan on going on a spiritual journey. That's 311 days of letting the Lord have hold of my heart and my mind.

I know I'll learn something. It could be small and insignificant to someone, but to me, it's going to be everything I'll cling to. Hopefully by the time I'm finished I'll be able to stand in front of my friends and family and say something with the most power, and the most meaning:

I believe.
